
Dan Schmidt is an actor and musician based in Illinois, USA.

Originally born in Westmont, Dan grew up with one younger brother, Keary Schmidt. His parents are Richard Schmidt, a facility maintenance manager, and Georgette Schmidt, an office assistant/customer service rep. Gone too soon, he lost both his parents and continued to follow his dreams.
​
As a graduate of Lewis University with an Associate in Science Degree and an A&P license in Aviation Maintenance, Dan currently works at O'Hare Airport as a certified aircraft mechanic. He had his first job in 1997 as a mechanic and has been in this field for over 23 years.
​
He developed a passion for performing early on in life, with his passion for playing the guitar and saxophone. From these early beginnings, Dan set out to make a career out of his love for the performing arts.
​
In 1989, he won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, played with the Chicago Symphony, and was a Drum Major his senior year in high school and lead the marching band. Last year, he was nominated for 3 awards: "Closest to the Main Actor Award," "Best Wardrobe in a Period Piece," and "Best Dance Scene."
​
He went on to appear in a wide range of projects, and he now has a list of impressive credits under his belt. His portfolio includes shows such as Batwoman, Fargo, NeXt, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, Empire, Shameless, and more. He is also working on many music projects to come in 2020 where he will put his guitar skills to use.

Dan lives his life based on "Anything worth having is worth fighting for" and prides himself for his genuine, hard-working, and loyal nature. For this reason, Dan is a great team player and is always a valuable addition to any film/TV production team. He is a fearless and caring individual, who always puts other people first! Some of Dan's hobbies are traveling, fishing, playing his guitar, and seeing live bands.
